Horoscopes (why do we care?)

First of all, what IS a horoscope?
According to google.com, a horoscope is:
  1. A forecast of a person's future, typically including a delineation of character and circumstances, based on the relative positions of the stars and planets at the time of that person's birth

  2. A short forecast for people born under a particular sign, esp. as published in a newspaper or magazine

  3. A birth chart

Second, how do you receive your horoscope?
You can look in magazines, on the internet, ask a friend...anywhere, really. You just have to know your Zodiac (or Astrological) "Sign". See the chart below:

YOUR BIRTHDAY:                                          YOUR SIGN:
3/21-4/19                                                            ARIES
4/20-5/20                                                            TAURUS
5/21-6/21                                                            GEMINI
6/22-7/22                                                            CANCER
7/23-8/22                                                            LEO
8/23-9/22                                                            VIRGO
9/23-10/22                                                          LIBRA
10/23-11/21                                                        SCORPIO
11/22-12/21                                                        SAGITTARIUS
12/22-1/19                                                          CAPRICORN
1/20-2/18                                                            AQUARIUS
2/19-3/20                                                            PISCES

Third, WHY DO WE CARE ABOUT HOROSCOPES???
Many people believe that real astrologists create these horoscopes (and truly predict your real personality and such)...but we'll never know. Even though many people believe in horoscopes and take them very seriously, however, people like me use them for fun. You know, just to see what it says...just in case.
In fact, many people use them as "road maps" to find their destiny. So that's what I'm going to do today.

Here's how it's going to work:
I'll give all of your daily horoscopes (For today, which is May 22, 2013). THEN I will "analyze" them, to show you how many people sue them to find their destinies. In the music industry, this has inspired many. MAYBE IT WILL INSPIRE YOU. (You never know....)

ARIES:
You need to really listen today -- otherwise, a relationship could turn sour for a good long while. Someone needs to know that you care, even if you can't do anything to fix what's wrong.

Music is a good thing, when used sparingly. It's like medicine; use too little and it won't do anything, but when you use too much then bad things happen. Are you so focused on your music, though, that you aren't taking the time for people who you care about (or who care about you)? Take a break from music today and spend some time with your family and friends. Bake them some cookies, pick them some flowers, anything.

TAURUS:
Try not to coast today -- you've got to take care of your physical or mental health if you want to make the most of the time you've got on earth. Take a big first step toward a healthier life!

Music is like medicine (as mentioned above--in Aries). If you use too little then it won't do anything, but if you use too much then bad things happen. Although Aries seems too be overdosing, you guys seem to be under-dosing. Take a break from the videogames and friends and make some music. It might be hard (even torturous) at first, but it will get better. Just remember: even though disinfectant spray stings, it helps and heals in the end; even though music may not come as naturally to you as you wish, it can help and even heal in the end.

GEMINI:
Your good energy is still flowing strongly today, so you should be able to lift anyone's spirits -- even your own! It's a great time to cement your reputation as a fun-loving friend.

Let your music touch the lives of others today. Use your "good energy" that is mentioned above to write new songs that lift and inspire others. Let your family or a friend or two hear your new creations and bask in the glory of their compliments.

CANCER:
You are likely going through a conflict with someone today -- but there's nothing to be afraid of! Let your true feelings be known, and be ready to listen up when your argument partner fires back!

Sometimes people won't like your music, and today it seems like they'll probably say so. Don't give up on your dreams! Stay strong and keep doing what you love! Tell them how YOU feel about your music and why you wrote it (or why you play/sing it)...try to help them understand...and if they still don't like it then SO BE IT! If YOU like it, then WHO CARES??? I can't tell you how many songs I've thrown away just because my sister didn't like it. And I seriously can't tell you how many times I've regretted doing that.

LEO:
You need to step up and take action today -- things are sure to get weird if you remain passive. It's one of those days when you're sure that you need to shake up your life in some way.

Don't just sit around and let your voice be lost in the crowd. Stand up and sing (or play) out! Let your voice be known and maybe even compose a new song today.
VIRGO:
It's a good time for big purchases today -- as long as you aren't the only one making the decision. Ask your mate or business partner for advice -- or suggest splitting the cost and see what happens.

Maybe buy a new instrument? Or maybe some new note paper (a lot of it)? Or maybe the purchases are metaphorical??? Only you can decide.

(AND a "Daily Extended", just because Virgos are awesome...it also helps that I am one, too.)
Try to fit some culture into your day -- it's a great time to attend a concert, visit a museum, or pick up a classic novel. Your emotions are in a highly susceptible phase, and you'll be greatly rewarded by seeing, hearing, reading, or otherwise experiencing artistic ideas. There is also a wonderful sense of community when you are in an audience, reading a book so many others have read, or looking at the same art that people have seen for generations.

Do what it said: attend a concert. If you can't do that, then write a song, because "your emotions are in a highly susceptible phase, and you'll be greatly rewarded by seeing, hearing, reading, or otherwise experiencing artistic ideas." The more personal and vulnerable the song, the better. Work hard and Best of Luck!!!

LIBRA:
Someone you've been trying to attract for quite some time is finally paying attention to you. It may not be a romantic thing, but it's a sure bet that this is going to be very good for you!

Talent agents? Record labels/producers? Get out there and WIN THEM OVER!!!!

SCORPIO:
There's just no need for you to take action today -- you've got everything all lined up already! Just kick back and let the gears grind on their own. Things should require action soon, though.

Relax! Take a break from intense music. Instead, enjoy the sunshine and feel the breeze.

SAGITTARIUS:
Your laughter is the key to things today -- are you laughing from the gut or is it more of a pity-laugh? Whatever it may be, those around you should have their moods directly affected.

Create a happy musical creation today and share it with a family member or a friend to boost their spirits. Trust me, it works.

CAPRICORN:
An authority figure oversteps their bounds -- could it be you? Try not to get too worked up over this, as things are likely going to be back to normal pretty soon. A little forgiveness goes a long way!

Maybe someone shot down your song or you were rejected by fans or talent agents or record labels/producers. Forgive them, stand back up, and move on. It's not worth getting upset over. Just try, try, try again.

AQUARIUS:
You can't just stick to your routines today -- you've got to break out and try something totally new. It's one of those days when you're sure to find something big that could have a real effect.

Take a break from your normal routine. It's okay. Inspiration will come.

PISCES:
Do you have a debt problem? Try to make sure that you're giving it all the mental resources you can give it -- and throw as much of your income at it as possible. Your energy is just right for this!

Are you in debt? Take a break from music and focus on trying to pay it off. There's no use in falling asleep after a long day of music-making if you may not have a bed the next day. Best Wishes!!

Hey everybody!!

Today I decided that I have the best mom ever. I guess a lot of kids say that, but I KNOW that MY mom is the best ever. She bought my siblings and I the nicest lunch today, then she let me go on a long run while blaring music. I love doing that.
What do you love doing?
So, yeah. My mom is the BEST. Ever!!
Why is your mom "the best"?

Personal Reflections

Today I will be reflecting on "an experience outside of your normal routine where the most clarity of life comes", as directed by my writing teacher. (I love Mrs. M!) She also told me to answer three questions:
1-Who am I?
2-What was I born to do?
3-What is stopping me or what is helping me to do what I was born to do?

Well, I guess I had better start writing.

My experience is about three days ago. Well...for some reason I had the strange desire to buy myself a ukulele. Don't ask why, because I really don't know. Anyway, I wanted a ukulele and I told my mom that. She said, "We can go to the music store tomorrow and see if we can buy one." So, the next day, we did just that. We went to the cheapest music store in town and looked at ukuleles. I loved the feel of the instrument in my hands. It felt...magical to hold something that could make such a beautiful sound. I found an Adele booklet and started playing I set fire to the rain and Rolling in the Deep. It sounded so beautiful and tropical. I didn't even know that anything could sound tropical, but, apparently, Adele songs can, when played on a soprano uke. Then something magical happened. I looked away from the rack of pink, purple, blue, brown, and orange ukuleles and, suddenly, I noticed the rest of the music store. On the left of the store was a supposedly sound-proof room that held violins, violas, and cellos. On the right side of the store was another sound-proof room that held mandolins, banjos, and other extreme guitar-and-ukulele-like instruments. In the middle--amongst the shelves and racks of music books, flash cards, softwares, key chains, and composer busts--were drums, amps, and guitars. Oh, holy guitars! There were SO MANY guitars that it was crazy. I immediately set the ukulele down, picked up a guitar learner's booklet, and ran to the leather stool that stood beside a gorgeous dark brown acoustic. I tried to reach the chords, but it was hard. Really hard. Really really hard. But, I guess, that's what made it exciting. Intoxicating. Enthralling. I kept trying to reach the impossibly hard-to-reach chords and, eventually, I got it. The sound that it made was like a dying cat. Creepy, crazy, off-key. By a lot. But I figured out that if I adjusted my fingers slightly I could make the chord sound...eh...decent. I must have practiced for a full fifteen minutes before I realized that my mom was wandering around with a really lost expression on her face. I don't know what possessed me, but I ran to her and told her that I wanted a guitar. "Are you sure?" she asked. "Positive," I replied. And I was. Until I got home and tried to play some more. I played until my fingers were sore, then I ate dinner and went to bed. The next day (yesterday) I came home from school, did my homework, and played my guitar (I decided to get a light brown acoustic). I played and played and played and played and played. I played until my fingers were raw. Actually, it hurts to type this right now. My fingers were so raw and had such deep cuts from the strings that skin started peeling off them and they started bleeding a little bit. When you touch them they sting. Really bad. But I found that it was easier to play. I even learned how to play We are never ever ever ever getting back together by Taylor Swift. I think that I was addicted. Actually, I know that I am addicted because I really want to leave this computer and go play my guitar right now, despite the pain.

1-Who am I?
To you guys I am Musica. I like it that way. I don't get ignored because of my name, I don't get rude comments because my posts are weird of boring. Musica simply says that I love music. And I like it that way.

2-What was I born to do?
I was born to play music. I think that you all have figured that out by now. If you haven't, then...I have no words.

3-What is stopping me or what is helping me to do what I was born to do?
Nothing is stopping me. Obviously, my new instrument is helping me. I think that as long as I can play or sing or even hear music then I will be fine.

With that in mind,
Who are you?
What were you born to do?
What is stopping you or what is helping you to do what I was born to do?

From Ukuleles to Guitars

Okay. So...Yesterday I made a post about getting my first ukulele, but then I accidentally deleted it. Silly me! So, anyway, I was going to get my first ukulele yesterday, but here's what happened instead:

I went to the music store and ended up buying my first guitar instead of a ukulele.

Exciting, huh?

That's all for now. Keep watching for more posts!!
